A large box of individually packaged, unused recyclable materials. A commentary on the common hypocrisy and wastefulness of ‘green’ branding. The logo is made up of one corner arrow of the triangle recycling symbol. The three arrows of the triangle represent the phrase reduce, reuse, recycle. With so much emphasis placed on only one of the three corners, the benefits of reducing and reusing waste are largely ignored. The packaging materials were specifically chosen not to be recyclable, yet branded in a manner consistent with eco-friendly, green design. Opening the packaging reveals first a styrofoam block layer with a green leaf on it. Under that is a set of instructions to open the packaging, recycle the raw materials, and dispose of the rest of the packaging.
