L'Oven is a Neapolitan style pizza oven. It is constructed of a concrete covered cinder block base for storage of wood and supplies. The oven itself is a dome constructed of fire brick and mortar covered with a layer of insulation and stucco. Construction took place over several months outside of the product design loft at Stanford, between 5 students in the loft in 2013. After construction, up to 3 pizzas can be cooked simultaneously in 90 seconds at about 900 degrees.
