The Arc Organ is a keyboard instrument with 48 fluorescent tubes in place of the keys. It is primarily an instrument of light rather than sound, although it has the ability to be used as a fully polyphonic MIDI keyboard as well. To emphasize the connection, the standard white to black key pattern is utilized, with the black keys replaced by black light tubes. A custom wiring harness and an individual switch per key were constructed to make everything function appropriately.
The Arc Organ was a featured visual instrument at Viz Camp 2014, where musicians and visual artists collaborated to explore a link between improvisational audio and visual music.
